We had an awesome Christmas company party recently. Let me tell you about it. Ho ho ho! 🎅

Everyone worked incredibly hard this year, so Krittapak Treepetchkla (Mark) and I wanted to create something special for the team.

With a 4-person squad, it felt like the perfect chance to do a cozy, tight-knit Christmas experience. Something personal. Something we’d remember for years.

So we put real effort into getting this right.

It started with a lunch conversation about Mark’s hobby: cooking. He’s the kind of guy who obsessively watches MasterChef and genuinely believes that deep down, he’s a French man on a mission to make the world’s best croissant 🥐.

So this year, we decided to put all that bragging to the test.

We challenged him to prepare a full course meal for everyone at our Christmas dinner.

He accepted with about 2000% confidence that we'll all be blown away.

I booked an Airbnb with a big kitchen to give him the proper stage to show off his skills.

For the next two weeks after accepting the challenge, he went home every night and practiced until midnight.

Honestly, the effort alone could’ve been added to our Linear as a full sprint project.

He had one rule.

“You can talk about the experience, but NO photos of the food. Everything lives in memory.” (🤫 I did sneak one photo of the pesto.)

The end result was BEYOND expectations.

The course started with a hot bowl of tomato soup 🍲
Then came lettuce steak with white cream sauce 🥬
The main was portobello mushroom pesto, made completely from scratch, including the stock 🍝
And the finale was Thai tea for dessert 🍨

Later, Mark shared the inspiration behind the course.

He said "the food took us on a journey across different countries, but landed with a Thai dessert. Just like Nexus AI. We will have global footprint, with a uniquely Thai character. Proudly made in Thailand, for the world."

The man can cook and tell stories.

Sadly for the ladies reading this, as of Q4, he is no longer single. 😄

It was a great Christmas party. Full of laughter, good conversations, and moments we will remember for years to come.

To future team members who’ll join Nexus, I honestly don’t know how we’ll top this. But we’ll try our best next year.
